Extreme Cleaning

Sometimes we are asked to go into homes that have been all but destroyed by tenants.

These are known as extreme cleans and they can be real eye openers.

If you can imagine not a dish in the house washed, mould growing in cups and on plates, a cooker that has never been cleaned, grease, stuck on egg, other unidentifiable food stuffs on the cooker and worktops, rotting food in the cupboards and fridge, sour milk, rubbish thrown on the floor instead of in the bin and that is just the kitchen.

The bathroom is another matter, a toilet that has never been cleaned, a shower that is turning black with mould, a bath that has a ring of scum about an inch thick and in one extreme clean we did the bath was actually being used as a cat litter tray. The floor has human waste and dog waste ingrained into it and even the walls have been smeared with poo by hands.

The other rooms are just as bad, half empty take away boxes, dirty clothes food scraps, paper everywhere, more poo treaded and trampled into the floor, urine stains, spilled ashtrays, broken glass, the list goes on and on.

Another thing you often find on an extreme clean is Drug paraphernalia, including dirty needles.

Now imagine the smell as you walk inside the front door of that property for the first time. there are no words that could ever explain the smell in some extreme clean homes.

I always feel bad for the property owner when we are called to an extreme clean, they have probably already lost a lot of money from unpaid rent and they are having to fork out more for cleaning and repairs to the property.

Our aim at Ayrshire Cleaners is to clean these properties as quickly as possible for the owner so that they can start recouping their losses a.s.a.p, in such a way that the next tenant would never know that the property was ever in such a state.
