What is the best way to clean a microwave after a food explosion inside?

If you had asked me this question a few years ago I would have said use a soft scourer and a lot of elbow grease and it will be clean after a while.

If you asked me today I would advise you to fill an egg cup with white vinegar, sit it in the microwave and cook on full power for 3 minutes then the crud from the explosion will just wipe off with a damp cloth.

I have learned a lot over the past few years and the things that I have learned have made my job a lot easier.
